Breathitt Co. 43 Jackson City 42

Was it a charge? Definite maybe. Do you call it in the last seconds of the game? Some would, some wouldn't. I can understand either side of either question, but I will never accept any explanation for getting the wrong jersey number on a foul call in which the two players in question are 50 feet apart, with one on his stomach on the other side of the half-court line. That is not a judgement call, it is not a mistake. It is theft.

It was a mistake I agree, but not theft. Was the kid that got to stay in the game not important to the team. Maybe it was a break for Jackson that he was on the floor. He had a bunch of threes and was probably their leading scorer. I bet he thinks that he was just as important as Davidson, especially on this night when he was playing so well. To me he was Jackson's best player in that game.

I won't debate who was or wasn't more important, but if it were you (or me) that got put on the bench on a huge official's error, would you (or I) not feel totally screwed?

What was ultimately most beneficial or harmful for the team as a whole is beside the point. Screwing any kid is never justified.

I think the technical was called because the player hit a Breathitt player in the jaw with his elbow.

The ref told the coach it was for mouthing off after the rebound and while the ball was being brought up the court.

I would just like to wish Jackson and Breathitt both good luck in the region.
