If they do switch to the Michigan offense, is this crazy to think would they move Justin Green to qb and let him run out of the gun like McFadden did at Arkansas. Or am I just thinking crazy?

TKE..Coach needs to start walking the halls.

Veerrrry interesting....

Biotech,

I see what you say here. Maybe even use a little zone coverage instead of the man to man he normally uses. The athletic ability of his standard player is usually pretty high and I can only imagine how well they could cover a small area of the field and make it nearly unusable to the offense.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY SHOULD DO. But only if they can get a line.

Only time in recent history is Manual during the playoff with St. X two years ago at Papa John's. Harness (a sophomore) got hurt. Backup was a freshman who also got hurt, then they moved a WR over to finish the game.

The Hines kid at Fern Creek started as a freshman, and played very well. Lots of yardage and lots of touchdowns as well. He had a very good year last year as a sophomore as well. When Hines was a freshman, FC played Trinity, X, Male, etc, and the kid did okay. They only won 4 games that year but he did not have much of a supporting cast. Big kid, 6'4", with a tremendous arm. Other than that, I do not know of any other freshmen starting in 6A.

DeMarcus Smith started as a freshman this past year for Seneca. They were 3-7. He,too, has a very strong arm. He has good mobility as well. Seneca played Male, Fern Creek, Ballard, PRP, and Trinity. DeMarcus finished the year as the 6th leading passer in 6A with 139.9 yards per game. Even though he played freshmen football as an 8th grader, it was a very difficult transition for him. I look for DeMarcus to dramatically improve his completion percentage and reduce turnovers this year.

The freshman to be at Male is very talented, but even for very talented kids like him it is an extremely difficult transition mentally, physically and emotionally.

If coach Redman honestly thinks this young man can be as good as his son, I would not expect him to make drastic changes to his offense. I would anticipate that he is looking forward to having the trigger man that can run the entire system effectively and hoping he will be able to get back to the top with the right QB.

But will this kid have a Chris Pointer, Brian Raspberry, Ibn Green, and Antoine Wordlow to help him out like Chris had? I sure hope so for our (MALE's) sake...

I can see Red running this type of O as it would fit very well with the type of players he has year in and year out. It also lends itself to the kid at QB who can run well but is not the typical Male throwing QB. As for the D, Redman could run a 3-3-5 stack and cause a lot of teams major problems with the skill kids Male usully has.

I agree with your comment about the 3-3-5. When I saw the comment about the interest in the West Virginia offense, the first thing I thought was, "they ought to consider running the West Virginia DEFENSE!"
