February 23, 200818 yr The best roots-rock band in America -- and arguably the best rock band out today, period -- will show off their new, leaner lineup Saturday at Headliner's in Louisville. They put on a great live show, and it's well worth the small admission price of 25 bucks. If you call yourself a Skynyrd fan (real Skynyrd, not that sorry, post-plane crash crap), check out the band that is the closest thing to what Skynyrd would be if they came out in today's music business environment. Anybody care to join me?

They are back to the two-man lead like they were on "Southern Rock Opera" and before. Jason Isbell, who was on the last three albums before the current one, just cut a solo album and has been touring.
February 27, 200818 yr Author I'd love to come down for that show. DBT are one of my fav bands. What is Headliners? Kind of like Louisville's version of The Southgate House, but not quite as cozy. They get a lot of the same regional and national touring acts. It's on Lexington Road just east of downtown.

I remember when you played some of their music at that little poker get-together we had with you, me, GT, Mrs. GT, and I think UKMustangFan at my on-campus apartment in the fall of 2005. I was really impressed with the sound.

February 27, 200818 yr I see what you're saying, but they're much better in an intimate setting. I agree with you on that, I always have said that its a much better atmosphere catching a band on the bar circuit then it is anywhere else. You may have talked me into it Shoe.
