Wolfe co. 81 Lee co. 78

Good game. Both teams led at various times. Wolfe pulled ahead in the 4th but Lee fought back. Either team could have won in the last 2 minutes.

Where was this game played at?

Wolfe, I do not recall such a more homer game. It was terrible Lee played most of the game with all starters in major foul trouble. Wolfe never had anyone in any kind of foul trouble

Could perhaps, the Lee players have been committing the fouls, which were being called?

I hardly ever complain about officiating since my son calls games in this region. It was not a bad call or a few bad calls it was completely one sided officiating. I know all three refs personally and have no disrespect for them.

Tonight there was a hosing in the works. Maybe the Lee coach had made them mad or the meatloaf they had for lunch upset their stomach. Whatever it was there were lost in the senior night festivities. Oh well it is one game and now it is tourney time so congrats to the Wolves

I have heard several people, complain about the officiating @ Wolfe County in the last few weeks. Of course their teams had lost also and I just figured they needed someone to blame.

King, I know we all tend to see things in favor of the team we support. I respectfully disagree with your analysis. Wolfe co. had 1 player who had 4 fouls early in the 4th quarter and several with three. It's true that not many were in foul trouble but Wolfe did play 10-11 deep. The overall foul totals were close. In addition many walks were called on Wolfe and similar incidents were ignored when Lee had the ball. Lee was given possession of the ball several times when it seemed to be a Lee co. player who touched it last as it went out of bounds. Many times a Lee player went over the back of a Wolfe player, making significant contact, to get a rebound and no foul was called. Having said all this, I repeat, our view of things tends to be slanted in favor of the team we support!

Foul totals were very lopsided. something in the area of 26 to 14. Again I am very restraint in questioning officials. We do tend to see things from our own interests I agree. The player who had most walks called on has walked the same way for 4 years. Wolfe played with great intensity and I like the press the whole game, a style in which I subscribe to. I am willing to concede the point and say Wolfe played thier butts off and I have no problem giving them all the credit for the victory.

King, I agree both teams played hard! I recorded the game tonight and just went back to recheck the foul totals. I got a shot of the scoreboard at the end of the first half and at the end of the game. I realize that the score board could be wrong ( sometimes a foul might not get posted) but the board read as follows: 1st half Wolfe 8 fouls, Lee 10 fouls. 2nd half Wolfe 10 fouls, Lee 8 fouls. As I said King certainly could be right and the posted totals wrong but anyway thats why I thougt the foul totals were close.

Who called the game tonight?

Scoreboard only goes to '10'. Lee had 16 in the first half. Three starters benched due to fouls (Pelfrey, Charles, Campbell) for most of the second quarter.

Lee didn't play 'bad', just never got it together after the early fouls. In fact, in spite of all that, Lee was on the line for 2 free throws with about 9 seconds to go to tie the game.

WOLFE CO. 81, LEE CO. 78

LEE CO. — Drake 18, Taulbee 4, Charles

WOLFE CO. — Campbell 14, Terrill 7,

10, Miller 3, P. Graham 4.

Thanks Scratch. That explains my misunderstanding. My apologies King.

I'll use some restraint and not say here we go again. Good win for the Wolves.

The foul count was actually really close, I believe there was only two fouls difference between the two teams. Wolfe County shot 26 free throws, 21 coming in the first half when they were only up 1 point at the half. Lee County shot 17 free throws in the game. Wolfe County's starting point guard sit out the 4 minutes of the 4th quarter with 4 fouls. Lee County was in foul trouble in the first half, Charles had 3, Pelfrey 2, Wise 3, and Campbell with 2. In saying that, Charles never got another foul called on him, and Pelfrey only had one called on him in the second half. I respectfully disagree with the fact that this was a homer officiated game, and not to brag about my fellow Wolves fans, but never do you see them come on here after a tough loss and state that the reason they got beat was becuase of the officiating. One last thing, the statement saying "that previous teams who have came into the Wolfe Den the last few weeks have felt the same when they left after losses" who are those teams, because this is the second win at home for the Wolves since early January. Good win for the Wolves, and a great building block going into the District Tournament.
