Question....Did R. Vanderhoof play tonight? I beleive that there was another one, maybe two out ealrier, what is the status on the Raceland injury list ?

She played. Rusty at first but overall good game. Lady Rams killed themselves at the line. Lost a 9 point lead in the 4th by missing free throws. They seem to be shooting them without using their legs, stiff arming them. #11 for Lewis is a SHOOTER. This young lady was hitting 25 footers.

Looks like Lewis should have voted to seed last year. Wouldn't they have Raceland in the districts. Or is Russell a better match up for Lewis?

Have seen Lewis play a few times and thought they played very well. They have a couple of nice gaurds and a couple of big girls underneath. I think they will be a really good team in a year or two. Thats not to say they will not finish this year strong.

Russell a better matchup than Raceland? Hmm, not the first time they played anyway. Lewis did look good tonight in spurts. Could be a first round classic!

Congrats to the Lady lions and also to Coach Jim Lykins who had to fill in as there coach was sick.

If Russell allows Denton to get shots and she is hitting like she did against Raceland, it will be really tough for them to escape with a win. Lykins and Marth were also hitting well Saturday and are capable on any given night. And, lets not forget Liles, who did not play that well against Raceland but can carry that team on her shoulders as well.

 

They present some matchup problems for Russell but Russell creates problems for them as well. Raceland killed Lewis on the boards with their three 6 footers. I would expect Russell's three 6 footers to do the same. That will be a good first round game.

 

On a positive note for Raceland. Nice to see Vanderhoof back playing. Like someone said, she looked a little rusty (not much) early in the game but played well after getting her game feet back.
