Officials?

Featured Replies

In the 45th District it seems like the only time you see three referees is during district games (regular season and postseason). That's the same for both girls and boys games to my knowledge.

I'm not usually a fan of three-man crews, either for girls or boys. It seems like there are too many whistles and each ref wants to get his calls in.

So I guess you disagree with the person that wrote officials are waiting for someone else to make the call. Oh by the way ---- surveys conducted show that there are about 3 - 4 less fouls per game in a three person game.

Someone asked me that at the Mason County-BB girls' game last night. I always assumed that Title IX pertained to participation of athletes only.

Title IX should be interpreted to maximize female participation in athletics irrespective of any existing disparity in interest. Thus while defenders argue that the three-prong test embodies the maxim that "opportunity drives interest," critics argue that the three-prong test goes beyond Title IX original purpose of preventing discrimination, and instead amounts to an exercise in governmentally-mandated social engineering whereby athletic opportunities are taken away from male students and given to female students, despite the comparatively lower interest levels of those female students.

Good Question

The last game I saw with 3 officials the officials got in an argument about a call. I am not sure that it is necessarily better for the games.

They do not use 3 for the girls games in the 8th either, unless it is a special tournament or something. I have wondered the same thing.

I was at that game! But during tournaments and I believe all district matchups are 3 man.:jump:

You are correct. All district seeding games require

3 refs
