Fox news is reporting that after the first vote Romney won the first vote but did not have a high enough % to claim the victory. So they had to have a 2nd vote and McCain released his delegates from the first vote and encouraged them to vote for Huckabee. On the 2nd vote, Huckabee went over 50% and claimed the victory.

 

Romney's campaign has sent out a robocall to voters saying that Huckabee has no chance to win the election and is just staying in to keep Romney from winning. That they don't need to fall for it and just vote for Romeny.

 

Funny thing is that Romney claims that Huckabee cannot win it but after tonight there might be as many as 5 states that Romney nor anyone else can beat Huckabee in.

And it might be a good strategy for McCain as Huckabee is winning the states that McCain was having a hard time winning. THE SOUTH. And as I was pointing out earlier in the week, no person has won the Presidential election without winning the South in at least 40 years.

Neither has a chance to win it with the other in the race....The difference is, Huckabee doesn't have a chance with or without Romney in the race. Romney would win if Huckabee wasn't there.

I disagree. If he comes out tonight and could have won Oklahoma, Georgia, WV, Alabama, TN, Mo, and Arkansas he would be in a strong 2nd position in the race. And Ohio would be a very winnable state for him. PA a possibility.

No evidence was presented that the robo-calls came from the Romney campaign, only an allegation that was repeated as fact. The Huckabee or McCain campaigns could just as easily had a few calls made and blamed Romney.

Did Huckabee even bother to visit California? New York? New Jersey? If so, I missed it. Huckabee campaigned almost exclusively in the south and he and McCain did a good job avoiding being in the same place. Romney has waged a national campaign and has the money to continue. Huckabee does not. He was done after South Carolina.
