Bardstown 60 Pineville 53

Final

Whew, what a start to the tournament.

Hickman 30 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for BT.

Pineville jumped out to a double digit lead in the 1st quarter, 8 point lead at halftime. They just ran out of gas and BT put it away in the 4th quarter.

Bardstown plays tomorrow at 5pm against the winner of Lou. Holy Cross and Paintsville.

Sounded like a good one to watch!

If the kids didn't have school and my daughter didn't have practice after school we would have been there! Will be there later though!

Looks like B'town woke-up in the second half, a 9:00 start is early, hope Pineville can refocus alot of basketball yet to be played.

Was a great game to watch and be at. Hickman has been on a tare of late and when he is hitting the three and his ability to drive to the basket he is hard to stop. Bardstown keep up the good work and prove to people your name should be mentioned as a contender this year.

The blazers got off to a slow start last year barely squeeking by their first round opponent and then made it to the finals. Same may happen this year.

Sounds like a good game. Seems like Pineville might have let a big one get away. I hope this loss doesn't make people look at Pineville as not being a threat!

Good Luck Bardstown! I hope you all win the tourney!

Indeed it was a very good game to watch.... This game and the Paintsville game were indeed the best played games of the first round tournament. Was indeed very impressed with Hickman.

Bardstown if they would play more team ball, would go from a very good team to a great team, as they surely have the athletic ability to be great.... Was really impressed by them today. They remind me of last years Holmes team, All for me, and me for me too! If their coach can get them to play more team ball....WOW....

Pineville shot very well for the first 12 minutes or so of the game, then went ice cold, hitting only 8-of-28 the rest of the way. By contrast, Bardstown hit 56 percent in the second half after a slow start.

They're actually doing a lot better than they did in the early part of the season in terms of selfishness. There were a couple defections, and the team has played a lot better — and much more together — since.

As I posted earlier, they really impressed me. Hickman and Edmondson of UHA were heads and shoulders better than anyone else I saw Thursday. It's just a shame that two of the best teams (IMO) playing in the All "A" will be playing so early in this tourney....

The Paintsville vs. Bardstown game alone will be worth the price of admission.
