I haven't heard anything official, but I did hear that the new superintendent in Franklin County has a NO SCHOOL, NO PLAY policy!

Is this because there would be a loss to gate money? I always thought it was the away team's choice to play the game because they have to make the trip.

I just saw on the bottom of WKYT where it said:

Franklin County- Game Cancelled.

I assume they are talking about this game.

Different schools have different policies on this. The school system I worked in was that if we didn't have school ,we could not have a home game but could play away. Kinda crazy ruling, don't you think. Usually the roads are clear by noon on those days that school is called off so it seems that the game should be played.:ylsuper:

The Franklin County game is cancelled for tonight because of the new policy that has been put into the school system. There is nothing allowed to go on at the school if school is cancelled( practices, games, clubs,etc.). I hope this game is rescheduled for later this week, because both of these teams need to have a game with big district games coming up this week!

They could reschedule it for Thursday night...the night before we play them.... Huge rival and district game.

Montgomery was ready and willing to go, but it's a board policy in Franklin Co. that all extra-curricular activities are cancelled if school is cancelled - they can't even practice!

The KHSAA now has the game listed as Thursday, February 7th @ 7:30 at FCHS.
