Reds sign Jeremy Affeldt

I've never seen the guy pitch, but I read somewhere that he throws 93 with a very good curve.

He's had 1 good season in his entire career..

I know he's had atleast 2 without even looking at his stats. His second year with KC and last year with COL.

When??

When he was drafted. Affeldt was a 3rd round draft selection in '97 and was a highly touted prospect. As a 6'4'' lefty, he was nasty and looked as a potential ace of the staff. When he suffered too many injuries, Kansas City decided to try him out as a closer (ala John Smoltz).

That's when.
