hounddawg Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I don't venture out much past the 10th region so I don't know what other districts are out there that could produce a region champion any given year. Looking at the 10th, I'm gonna have to say that the 40th is by far the toughest. 4 teams that are consistanty ranked in the top 5 of the region is hard to beat. Montgomery obviously, however Paris played them to 3 points last night. Then earlier in the season, Clark beat Paris, Paris beat Bourbon, and Bourbon beat Clark. These 3 teams are just fighting to not get seeded 4th in for the district tournament. Brutal. :fight:

mcpapa Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 The 40th is BY FAR the most competitive in the 10th Region. This learned opinion comes from someone who, while rarely attending a girl's game (compared to the number of boys games I watch, anyway), isn't so senile that he can't read. Do the girl's districts in the 10th mirror the boys in terms of which are random draw and which are seeded?
UNDERTHEBRIDGE Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 How about the 43rd? Lexington Catholic is 14-2 w/ a loss to PD for a 3-1 record in district, Paul Lawerence Dunbar is 18-1 and 3-0 in district not having played LCA yet, LCA is 9-2 w/ a 2-1 district record losing to Lex Cath. Then you have Lafayette who is 12-4 and 1-2 in district w/ losses to Dunbar and Lex Cath. Finally you have Tates Creek who is the weakest of this district at 5-8 w/ an 0-5 record in district. From just looking at this, three teams are legit State Championship contenders with two teams having won the state title the last two years. Dunbar might however be the best team of this group, having handled Lex Cath at Lex Cath early this season. Throw in a Lafayette team that isn't the best but can be hard to handle on a good night and I'd say this might be the toughest overall district. The fact that one of the top three teams will not be playing in the Region Tourny let alone the State is already tough. Sorry if this was a 10th Region only thread by the way. I read afterwards and couldn't tell if you only wanted 10th Region districts or all region's in general.
NCC06 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Agree the 43rd is the toughest in the state...Its no good that 2 of these teams will not even make it to the regionals

hounddawg Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 Indeed... hints the ?.. Is your district the toughest! And looking at the 43rd its no comparison to the 40th. Only Montgomery County can compete with the 43rd teams night in and night out. What about districts from Louisville? I know in the past they use to have the same scenario has the 43rd where 2 top teams in the state couldn't advance to the regional tournament.

I know the 40th is seeded.

Catholic has grea tradition and a stacked team. LCA has beaten some of the best competition in the country and Dunbar is the suprise team that could win it.
CHSalum07 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 The 33rd is a tough region you got Boone Co. Conner, who is having a great season, and Ryle who is having a very solid year.
