Corbin 66 Middlesboro 48

Featured Replies

I like South's team. They play with alot of heart and they make few mistakes when they are on. The Whitley game is always a big physical match-up and it always leads to someone compaining about a player being too rough. Corbin is a rough team there is no doubt about it. The rogers girl is most likely the least physical one of the bunch and it's a shame that one game may be decided by the bonehead moves of the 2 girls that seem to get a little too rough.

The Whitley/Corbin game is the one that I heard was going to be sent to the KHSAA. One of Corbin's players stomped a Whitley player in the chest. I think most of us agree that something needs to be done. I guess we will see if they continue to show bad sportmanship when South plays Corbin next week.

I know that scoring is important but there is more to being a good player that just being the leading scorer. Some coaches seem to just want one player to be the superstar, I'm thankful that South always puts forth more of a team effort.

I was at this game..........I did not see anything that was out of line from either team. I did see a Corbin girl trip over a Whitley player who was on the floor, but I don't know if that is what you are talking about or not.

I'm sure that if Coach Parsons thought that something like this happened, the Corbin kid would have already apologized for it.

I didnt say 2 of Corbin's Players aren't rough. I dont agree with how they play but, they play as rough as the ref's allow them too.

If you would re-read my post I said why many feel she is the best player in the region. Mikkah scores when she has too and takes over a game when needed. No one can stop her once she sets her mind to it. She has outplayed wombles in the past 4 meetings between the 2 teams. Corbin has lost some of those games but, that was because someone else stepped up. Mikkah does more for her team than any other player in the region. She is also leading the 13th region in scoring so far this year.

Boggs is the leading scorer, from what I can tell, she (Rogers) ranks tied for third.

As for Wombles and Rogers, both girls are top-notch players and great kids.

Does anyone have the stats that show the number of foul shots taken by Corbin and then umber of foul shots taken by M'boro? I had heard (so don't know if fact) that corbin shot more than twice as many foul shots as M'boro.

It's common knowledge around here that you'd better be 10 points better than Corbin to beat them at their place.

I thought Corbin outplayed Middlesboro. Bottom line. It looked as if Corbin kept its compsure and Middlesboro didn't.

Whitley beat Corbin by more AT CORBIN, THAN THEY DID AT THEIR OWN PLACE. SO NO, DON'T BELIEVE IT'S COMMON KNOWLEDGE.

That's what people from Corbin say.

ps...Looks like you accidently hit your caps lock button.

Nope, trying to make a POINT.

Corbin beat Middlesboro fair and square. Good game by the Lady Hounds and they never lost their composure once they fell behind. That was the key to the game.

It's not Corbin's fault they get the breaks at their place, it's the officials fault. I have no animosity towards Corbin for that at all. Corbin is an excellent school academically and athletically, that's fact. Corbin has top notch athletic facilities, that's fact. Corbin has excellent coaches in all sports, that's fact. My only complaint about Corbin is that over the years they have improved their teams by enticing talented athletic kids from surrounding school districts to come there, another fact.

Transfers happen at every school. Where did the Coleman girls (I believe that's there name) come from? Or are they from Middlesboro?

I believe they were there 2 years ago, moved away for a family issue, and then moved back this past summer.

I thought so. I thought I remembered watching them a couple of years back, but couldn't remember if that were them or not.

They are very good players.

Yes, very good. They have to be considered the favorite in the All "A"

Corbin Shot either 42 or 45 and Middlesboro shot either 12 or 15. I can't remember the exact number for either side, but I am close +/- a couple either way.

Even if I take the Corbin low number (42) and the M'boro high number (15), that seems to be a bit lopsided to me.

Middlesboro had 4 starters foul out.
