December 27, 200718 yr Author I think the value of that "resting" is subjective. Do you keep the players fresh by not playing them? Sure. But do you take away the "rhythm" of the season by doing so? Possibly. I think it's a fine line. I personally think you play the best regardless, and when the game is in hand, you consider pulling them. I don't believe in not playing your best players and going for a win just because you have playoffs coming. Just my opinion. It's not subjective at this point in the season. Why do they reward the #1 and #2 seeds with a bye?

And if you don't have one and your playoff position is set in stone, you rest your players.
