Go Mason County

Congrats on 5000 mcpapa. There's nickname for Rupp when Mason Co. is in attendance since the 81 season and I believe it's Romp Arena!

Not to ruin a Mason County thread but who holds the current Sweet 16 attendance record, i though it was a Farmer/Clay Co. Game? I was also under the impression that the SC/Madison Central '99 Game was second all time. Guess I could get my lazy tail up and look it up in the millions of Sweet 16 programs I have......

On another note congratz MCPAPA on this crowning achievement, I am barely over 100 posts, I guess I need to get some more opinions.....not sure if my lifetime mark will ever reach 5,000!

The 81 State Finals had over 20,000 in attendance. It was then a world record crowd for a high school basketball game. It has since been broken in Indiana when they used to play the tournament in the RCA dome. As for the Sweet 16 it has surpassed the 81 attendance a few times. But, the Morgan Co. game was not one of them.

I was at the tourney when Morgan Co. played and believe me Rupp was no where near having 20,000 in the building.

The Championship trophy, in Simon Kenton's hallway:D, has the actual number written on it and says that it was the world record for a HS game, just a little piece of info.

Just wanted Post #5,000 to be a Mason County-related post. Looking forward to seeing how the Royals respond tomorrow to the long road trip in the LexCath tourney.

5000 posts and every one I've read handled with class! Keep it up.:thumb:
