November 20, 200718 yr Well I ran the spybot search and destroy twice, 4 errors still come up on it and after I reboot, it says they can't be fixed. Then I scanned using the Ad-Aware. It fixed the errors. Now the windows still pop up except they are blank. There is just a (sometimes multiple) windows internet explorer that pops up that is completely blank. I guess I will now go to pcpitstop and place the problem there. Any other suggestions? Does it say something in the Internet Explorer line like: http://blank or something?
November 20, 200718 yr Gotcha. I'd still go to that forum. They'll have you run Hijackthis and post the results. They'll then look at them and tell you what you need to do. Hijackthis is a very good program. It lists every thing that's in your system registry. Then (with assistance) you can tell it which items to remove.

I just disabled it like you said and it didn't fix the problem, now the system config utility comes up after I rebooted, do I return it back like it was?
November 20, 200718 yr Author Does it say something in the Internet Explorer line like: http://blank or something? No just blank On my task bar there are new windows opening and getting in my way when I type, then when I open it up, there is no address in the bar, it is just blank.

If it didn't fix it you can go back to the old way if you'd like, or you can choose "Do Not Show this Message Again" which is what I suggest... It's more of a burden to have everything running, really. It just slows your speed down because all those unused open programs are bogging down your memory. Other than that, I would just listen to what these guys are telling you... I don't deal with a whole lot of these issues, I mainly assist people who can't get online at all.

November 21, 200718 yr You could try running the Dell Restore first... Press F10 as your computer is coming on. It'll give you the option to do two different restores, and you would want to do the one where you don't lose anything first to see if that helps. I'd backup all your important files anyways just to be on the safe side, but that would be a quick alternative before you lose EVERYTHING. Worst case scenario you still have to do the reformat, best case scenario you don't lose much and your computer is fixed.
