November 12, 200718 yr Would anyone else besides me have let Shayne attempt a FG at the end of the game? Belichick would've, only after three shots at the end zone...
November 12, 200718 yr The Ravens defense is still an elite unit...their offense just keeps putting them in bad situations. They did hold the Bengals out of the end zone yesterday, which is pretty good. McNair is done...when are they going to realize this. I'm no Kyle Boller fan, and I don't think he's the answer...but he'd have to give them a better chance to win. McNair can't move, he can't avoid the rush, he holds on to the ball too much, his arm is nowhere near what it used to be...with Boller he could at least get the ball down the field and he could probably buy a little time in the pocket because he moves better at this point. And, let's face it, could he turn the ball over any more than McNair is right now? Not that I think he is that good, but they might as well give Troy Smith a shot.
November 12, 200718 yr Not that I think he is that good, but they might as well give Troy Smith a shot. He couldn't be any worse than McNair at this stage of his career...give him a look and see what you've got. I think I'd go with Boller for a few games and see if I could get something going. At this point, their playoffs hopes aren't completely dead. If they could get anything from their offense, the defense is still one of the best. It's unlikely, but I'd still take a shot with Boller for at least a couple of games...if nothing changes and their playoffs chances are dead after 2 or 3 games, then I'd be all for putting Smith in to see what he could do. Get an idea of what you've got to work with...
