Can Perry Central stay on a roll and beat Prestonsburg??? They have a high powered offese but are not great defensively.

He's out for the season...

 

It must be said, though, Prestonsburg is more of a defense-oriented team this year. Only ONE team (Beechwood) has scored more than 2 TD's on the Blackcats.

 

I was a little critical of Coach James (def. coordinator) earlier in the year going with a predominance of 7 man fronts. I've got to say now that we're toward the end of the year, it seems to have worked. The DL and LB have been "born again hard" because...well...they've been FORCED into it.

 

This is why HE coaches and I watch from the stands. :lol:

 

Offensively, the Blackcats are much more conservative this year. It's pretty much an FB inside the tackles, HB outside the tackles running game. The passing game isn't as accomplished as in past years (esp. with the starting QB out), but still, it's been fairly competent when called on. This isn't bad considering it's rarely been used in non-obvious situations (3rd and long, when behind, etc).

 

Bottom line...this P-burg team plays to take advantage of mistakes, as most defensive teams do.

 

It will be interesting to see the Blackcats against a pass-oriented attack. The secondary was green in the 1st game vs. Breathitt Co.. This should give some measure of how far it has come since.

I dont think Perry Central has faced a better defense than Prestonburgs. Jordan Amis will have a hard time throwing the ball this Friday night. The young PCC offensive line will struggle against the stronger Pburg Defense. Offensively, Prestonsburg will probably run for 4 to 5 yards a pop therefore eating up the clock. I just dont think PCC will be able to put up many points against Pburg. But I have been fooled before, they scored at will against Sheldon Clark. Good luck PCC and hope you guys can pull out probably what would be the biggest win of the season.

PCC will dominate this match-up. Coach Browne has all the troops ready for battle. I think Coach Browne should be nominated for coach of the year in Kentucky. He is like a god around here and he should probably help Hatcher or Coach Napier in basketball. Browne is a true asset to any program. He is a prime example of what hard work and dedication can do for a program that is in bad shape. Great job Coach Browne and I will be at the game wearing my Browne is back in Town t-shirt to support you.

I could be wrong, but I will be surprised if Prestonsburg don't win this by at least 2 td's.
