As to the fake punts, you have called it four times in the last two years. One against Male where Weitlauf broke his ankle picking up the first down, once against St X that X got the substitution penalty on the first drive, once against PRP for 27 yards and a TD, and once against Dunbar.

Not Trinity-just a big fan of the kids who play for Trinity. You did read the story about Colin Saylor earlier this year? Good kid- Great family. You have a great story to tell about Trinity-house system, great campus, robust academic offerings, etc. It is more than a football factory.

I think that I had read on an earlier thread that you have a son, who may play for the Tigers, or at least I think that I read that.

Well my question is if you do, how do you know so much about the Rocks Team, do you have the game taped or how the heck do you seem to know so much about your arch-rival. Do you attend the rocks games, and miss your sons games or what I a bit confused. But as I said before I appreciate your comments, right or wrong.

Once again, I think you think this is about Trinity. The average fan sees 15 games a year and that how many X games I hope to see this year. But the average referee does about 60 games per year or roughly 4 times the number of games the average fan sees. If you want to discuss Tommie Pass of St Edwards versus Tari Mtengi of Our Lady of Lourdes in the 8th grade AA Toy Bowl next Sunday at 2:30 PM, I would say ask any referee who the best CSAA teams are this year. They played earlier in a jamboree that ended in a 0-0 tie but both teams went undefeated in the season. Or a larger scale, how Woodson of UK threw off his back foot because of continual pressure against Miss ST. Give the guys in stripes some credit- we see some football.

Let me give you an example. Let's say that you have a quarterback who throws alot. In the referee pregame, you discuss tendencies of that team and what to expect. So when he gets flushed from the pocket, he can throw short, throw long, or run the ball. The puts the line judge or linesmen in limbo as to where he is positioned. So if you know that the QB has a tendency to throw long in those cases, then the back judge knows to watch for it and the line judge stays to cover underneath and the run after he gets released by the referee. Teams are a creature of habit and they do the same things generally, especially if they are sucessful. Knowing what to expect is part of a good officials job. I am not saying that I am a good official but usually I work with some. By the way, Trinity probably produces more officials than any other school in Louisville.

Quit trying to disguise your dislike of Trinity with how much you care about some of its players or how officials call the games. Enough of the insincere praise and appreciation of Trinity, its players and coaches.

Thanks for your opinion. Following your advice, I will from this point forward stop all of this praise for Trinity. :argue:

Dunbar is loaded with talent....those kids need to buy into the system 100% and they can be a special club. That said, I was impressed with Trinity's methodical gameplan last night, they simply went to work got it done in the first half....and Bob called off the dogs earlier than any of us thought he would the starters were out at the half...

 

side note: the punter for Dunbar was awesome....very impressive the entire game, beautiful shots...

 

I couldn't have said it better! Good job! With that said, we have not had to use special teams that much in the last couple of games... I would like to see a stronger focus on kickoff return and kick cover. I'm being picky!!! But come deep playoff time, special teams always seem to find themselves in the mix. GO ROCKS!
