How far will the Boston Celtics go?

I know that it's not over yet, but this was just a fun thread to read...

So, two players make a championship defensive team? Look at the Spurs, they play defense across the board. THAT is a championship team.

Cavs didn't have to play great defense because the Pistons couldn't score. And when the Pistons needed solid defense against the Cavs, well, what was the # of points LeBron score in a row?

I don't see any defense on that roster. Come playoff time, you have to be able to stop someone. I don't see the rugged mentality, willing to do the rough jobs to win games.

Eastern Conference Finals is best hope. And I am a Celtics fan.

Playing the best defense in the playoffs.

Answer me this. How many rings do those 3 players that you are counting on have?

Another easy one for you: How many times has those 3 players you are counting on been to the Finals?

Another easy one for you: How many times has those 3 players you are counting on even played in the conference finals?

One more: How many playoff wins do those 3 players you are counting on have compared to the Spurs?

Celtics would lose to the Spurs in 5.

Youngster, you need to be able to control the boards, play defense and score to win the NBA championship. The Celtics do one of the 3.:D;):sssh:

Now they do 3 of 3

A bunch of stars that all put up good numbers do not equal championship teams, just ask Joe Torre. I don't think the Celtics will be as good as the Suns/Mavs/Pistons were last year and we all saw how far they got. Will they be a good team? Yes. I think they need a little time though before we start talking championships.

You were right, the Celtics weren't as good, they were 4234982390x better.

The East is terrible so they have a great chance of getting to the finals where they will be rolled on by a Western conference team.

Rondo will be part of the problem with this team. Other teams can double off of him (since his outside shooting is horrible)to Garnett low or Pierce on the drive. That allows them to stay with Allen. And as when Garnett or Pierce passes out of the double-team, they don't have to worry about rotating quickly to Rondo as he cannot consistently hurt them with an outside shot. He tries to drive and they are already in the lane from where they were double teaming.

Now if the other post player can just hammer the boards (not sure I see that on the roster) than it becomes difficult for them to double team off of him and leave that player to hammer the boards.

Rondo done quite well this year offensively. And has produced since the playoffs began.

Man reading this thread was funny, no credit given to the Celtics whatsoever. Good thing we don't get paid for our opinions.:sssh:

I can't believe people made incorrect predictions in the world of sports... I've never seen anything like it before.

Even more so than that, people admitting when they're wrong. Wait that hasn't happened yet.

Since when do people have to admit they're wrong? They already said how they felt before the season about the Celtics, I don't see why they would dig it up and say hey guys, sorry about my predictions 6 months ago, I was wrong and I apologize...

I just said it was a fun thread... Why so bitter?
