I don't think George wanted him there anymore and I don't think that Torre wanted to be there anymore. In the end, I think they both did what they had to do to part ways while trying to save face with the media at the same time. And for the record I love Torre and think that he is a class act all they way and baseball will miss him if he decides to hang it up for good.

I don't think Joe will make 5 mil with his next team.

 

Manager Walt Alston of the Dodgers always had a one year contract.

 

The last three years Joe hasn't got into the World Series. He didn't mention those facts.
