Pike Central has a couple of nice players. However, they don't have enough to outlast the Pirates.

Depends if Charlie Dotson is healthy and if Dustin May suits up. Hopefully, Dustin will sit this one out and give that knee another week to heal.

Depends:

1. On whether May and/or Dotson play. If both do not play then Belfry suddenly becomes vulnerable.

 

2. Whether Merchant is healthy. Merchant has great quickness and is Pike Central's only true big play threat. I can't see Central driving the ball on Belfry.

 

3. Depends on the gameplan. If Haywood decides he wants to set this defense free, then McQuire will have zero time to make decisions. If Haywood wants to play conservative (which I am 95% sure he will decide to do) then it gives Pike Central a chance.

 

I'd say there is a 75% chance the streak continues, 50% if Dotson/May don't play, 100% if they both do.

I really think this unit...at full strength, is the best overall defensive unit Belfry's had since 1985/86. Slightly undersized....but tremendously quick....and very fundamentally sound.

Pike Central will have NO time to throw and won't be able to gain yardage running. Thats my opinion.

 

This game presents a nice oppurtunity to let Elkins air it out.
