What are the tie breakers in district play for home field?

 

Take Bullitt East's district for example. Let's say North Bullitt goes 3-0, Marion loses to Larue and BE beats Larue.

 

Then you have North at 3-0, and the other three teams at 1-2. Who gets the #2 ranking and home field for the first round?

It means if your district needs a tiebreaker to determine seeding, it matters who your team beat in the non-district schedule. Say the combined win total of the teams on your squad's non-district schedule is 8, and your opponent's is 6, then your team gets the nod. Just one more reason to schedule tough non-district games.

Take the teams with the 4 best Won-Loss Records for each team.

 

For each team,

Add the wins for the 4 teams - this is the number of points for that team.

 

Then you use the points to settle the tie breaker. team with most points is 1st, 2nd most is 2nd, other team is third

If Bullitt East, North Bullitt and Marion County end in a three-way tie ...

 

Bullitt East can claim DeSales and Bullitt Central as non-district wins. The Chargers will probably lose to Manual and beat Nelson County. My guess is that DeSales ends up going somewhere around 5-5, Bullitt Central about 2-8 and Nelson County around 4-6. LaRue County could end up at 2-8. That would give Bullitt East a total of 13 points.

 

North Bullitt will probably be able to claim four from this list ... Breckinridge County, Waggener, Jeffersontown, LaRue and probably South Oldham. Breckinridge won't win a game, and Waggener may not either. That leaves Jeffersontown (5-5, maybe?), South Oldham (3-7, maybe?) and LaRue. By my projections, that gives them 10 points.

 

Marion County can claim West Jessamine, Nelson County, Harrison County and Washington County. The Knights finish with two teams that are currently unbeaten, Anderson County and Green County. West Jessamine will finish 0-10. We gave Nelson four wins earlier and my guess is Harrison ends up with seven and Washington with five. With the two that LaRue has, that gives Marion 18 points, and that's not counting potential wins over Anderson and Green.

 

I would say that Marion would have the edge and get the top seed, leaving North Bullitt and Bullitt East to slug it out in the first round.

Gotcha so it's the # of wins by teams that doesn't include the teams we are tied with.

Just hoping for 1 playoff game at home. It would appear that as long as we beat Larue on the 19th we will have one.

Incorrect. The first tie-breaker is head to head. If one of the 3 teams has a win over the other 2 teams(or vice versa) they get the spot. If there is a situation where 1beats 2 2 beats3 and 3 beats 1. Then the above scenario comes in to play.

Gotcha, I missed that post. Yeah it can be kind of tough when you have to go past first couple of tiebreakers.
