No more KY/TN game, East/West game to start in 2008

Ram, not to over-analyze but I think that list may be a little out-dated. Cov Cath and Highlands are both in 5A and I think Franklin County may be as well. I suspect this list doesn't consider teams moving up in class.

The East squad looks to have the majority of talent in the state on a yearly basis although I am unknown to a lot of WKY teams.

I would be more than shocked if EKU was a serious site for consideration. It sounds great from a geographical approach, but playing a game on their field in June would be a stretch IMO....

Sorry about that, I went by the KHSAA web site. Perhaps a moderator can edit my list to correctly list the above teams.

A better link might be http://www.khsaa.org/football/alignment.pdf And I wouldn't get too hung up (as some do) on "EAST" and "WEST". It is simply dividing the state in half by district numbers and the one thing no one control is where pockets of schools are (or a single school is) built. Starting out numbering West to East it could be that in some classes, a whole lot of schools are in the East and will leave them in the "west" on this type of thing so that the number of districts are balanced. We just should get hung up on the small stuff.

I will say when Bowling Green goes after something, they put on a good show and the people involved leave impressed. The fact WKU has made a 3-year committment tells you they want the series. Not to mention the recruiting edge with the Toppers going 1A...

ABSOLUTELY! These type of things in order to be successful, must be places where they are WANTED. As much as Lexington was convenient, Lexington did little more than simply have a large stadium in terms of hosting the Ky-TN games. In many events, they are simply too lethargic and don't care. And I lived there a long time so it is not regional egg throwing. They just don't seem to care (nor does Louisville) about these events and these communities that care, and show it by putting up financial support, etc., should get the events.
