Old Soda
I have been following Noochie's career in the minors, but when I checked Corpus Christi's (Astros Double A team) I didn't see him listed anymore. Anyone know what's going on? He was having a pretty good season with them, having made the midseason all star team.
wizard4u
They released him and sent him home, to make room for some younger guys with big signing bounus. He's a free agent and came home on Sunday.

Not surprising. Some would say this is why the Astros organization is what it is today.
westsider
Or maybe the Astros are clearing space for actual prospects. Varner is 26 and having a decent year in Double-A, but he's being used as a DH, which says he has no future with the Astros ... at this point, he's hardly a major league prospect. Well when you put it that way....
