Owen County 30 Brossart 6

Featured Replies

Can someone tell me about Owen County?

Who looked good.

Cox threw the ball well. Slone, Oaks, and Snyder

ran the ball well. Defensive line did an awesome job. Ogden had 3 interceptions. Their kickers are terrible.

I have no doubt that the Bishop Brossart Mustang Football Program is here to stay.

It's there first year. I'll give them about 5 years until the program really takes off. No one expects them to be tremendous in there first year. GOOD LUCK the rest of the season MUSTANGS

For Buttels: Good NKY battle tonight.

Thanks much!! We had Coach Ollier on the show on Saturday. We'll have Coach ockensmith on shortly.

I knew as soon as BBHS started a football program this would happen.....no one knows what would have happened. Let it go!!!

Just like when BBHS had the great group in Basketball and lost to Bracken Co., or win they had the group that was supposed to win the 10th Region in baseball (didn't make it out of the district, two years in a row)....you just never knew, so don't speculate on it, especially since it is in the past and no matter what you can't change it.

BBHS has the athletes to do it now.....and I truly feel in a year or two they'll be where they need to be.....it takes time. For years they have lost kids from the feeder schools to schools with Football programs, such as, NCC, CC, Highlands, CovCath....once those numbers start to decrease is when you'll really see a difference, and I am sure it will take time, but it will happen eventually.

But please stop living in the past and stop posting the "What if's" and "It could have been's". It didn't happen, end of story!!

Cheer on the kids who are playing NOW.....Nice 1st varsity game performance MUSTANGS....good luck the rest of the year!

Jeeze Cop. :p Just kidding.

It can't hurt to speculate, I never said that I wasn't behind the kids, heck I admire them. They are doing something that nobody has done before.

Speaking of the past, when will you & your buddies let the Bracken County debacle go--It happened, the coach stuck with his convictions, they lost, it's LONG AGO OVER???? I doubt you'd care to debate "underachieving", as your guys have turned it into an art form!! :D :D

We are getting back to discussing the game, correct?

By the way, I agree with the lost kids, but it will take more than a couple years IMO?? I think a football program takes longer to build than any other sports' program, due to the numbers it takes, especially at a smaller school!! Than said however, I've no doubt that in time the Mustangs will build a competitive program. A Beechwood move to 2-A would help accelerate the time line!! :D

Absolutely!! I thought Cox threw the ball pretty well for Owen, and that the O & D lines were the main difference. Ogden seemed to be where every errant ball was thrown, but Owen's entire kicking game was horrendous?? They really need to correct that as they move into their season.
