I didnt go but the report I got was that Milan won the scrimmage 3 score to 2. Milan scored the first 2 scores then Mayfield settled down and came back with 2 score of their own. Milan scored the final time on a long pass at the end of the scrimmage. No idea how the 2nd teams did. Seems everyone came away from the scrimmage feeling pretty good about the Cards preformance. Milan is expected to be very good this year. Milan is a sort of Mayfield in W TN. Again this was 2nd hand info.

Mayfield started the scrimmage out not so good. The offense couldn't get anything going on the first two drives but they soon settled down. Milan has a very big and fast team and I thought Mayfield played right with them. Milan went ahead 2 touchdowns before Mayfield could get on the board. The offense has some work to do but will be fine once the season gets started. The o-line has to stay with their blocks until they hear the whistle, once they do that the line will be ok. Sophomore Jansen Jones (Micah Jones brother) got the start at left tackle instead of Scott Haden. He will be a good one. Logan Armstrong looked real good and comfortable at QB. He made some good throws on the screen passes and his long throws were right on the money. RB's will Mayfield's strong suit. If Andy is in the backfield then Tyrese lines up in the slot and vice versa.

The defense was good except for a couple of pass plays that the secondary got burnt on. I thought our d-line and linebackers did a good job against the run while taking on a much bigger Milan o-line. Mayfield had good coverage on the pass play that Milan scored on at the end of the scrimmage but the reciever came back to the ball and then beat the defender for the score. Until then Milan couldn't get anything going after their first two scores.

Tommy McNutt was right on the money with his extra points. They didn't let him kick off. He looked good on his punts also except for one.

The JV team scored I think 3 times to Milan's 0. Rump put on a show at RB and I think that he will get plenty of playing time on varsity before the season is over. He just seemed determined not to do down. He never was taken down by one player. The JV o-line looked good also.
