August 10, 200719 yr What about his shoes? They are. Or least they were when I toured the place in 1994. They had some Joe items even though he isn't enshrined. I thought that was odd, but the HOF doesn't decide who is inducted, the baseball writers do.
August 10, 200719 yr What about his shoes? If Joe gets in, then Rose will be there too. Yes, Rose has shown ignorance in the way he has handled his gambling on baseball problems. But that still does not negate his HOF (non-steroid) accomplishments. He should be in the HOF, and willl be someday after he is long deceased, and that's sad he will not be able to experience it in his lifetime. I used to think that Rose would be inducted soon after he passed away. And maybe he will. But Joe Jackson's been dead how long now? Clearly, MLB is capable of holding a grudge a long time.
August 14, 200719 yr I agree that Jim Rice, Bert Blyleven, and Fred Lynn should be in. I also agree that I couldn't understand why Dawson wasn't voted in. A large part of the hall is longevity and he endured at a high level for 21 seasons. I agree with you on Jim Rice, Fred Lynn, and Andre Dawson, but I am not sure about Blyleven.
