2007/2008 Franklin Co

What does Franklin Co. need to do to improve in 2007/2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Not much varsity experience returning. FC lost I think 6 seniors. Team will consist of mostly juniors and sophomores. Will be a very young team.

 

Western Hills is by far and away the favorite in the district with Woodford and Frankfort close behind.

 

Could be a tough year for the Flyers!!!!!

The Flyers should be strong with Myer and Hall shooting the three and Hicks attacking the rim. They also ahd a tremendous freshman team last year. They got a very nice transfer in the post with Andy Donovan coming over from Lex Catholic.

Who all do the Flyers return? I saw them play once this summer and they had a few kids that could shoot the 3,Meyer, Hall and Watkins. Donovan could also step out and shoot. Will the Flyers have that many shooters or were they just on the one game I saw them? If they can really shoot the 3 ball that should be able to keep the Flyers competitive!

Junior Deron Hicks needs to get through football season injury free. I will go out on a limb and say that he is one of the best defensive guards in the 11th region.

 

Ryan Conner who is now at 6' 4" needs to step up for this team to get any respect in the tough 11th.

There is a lot of potential in this group, but not a lot of varsity experience.

I believe that several kids from last season's freshman class will contribute. That freshmen team only lost 1 game, and won the 11th region tournament.

 

Vance Hall is the best of that bunch, and I believe he will start varsity this year at the point, but these next 5 sophomores are pretty good as well as should be contributors for the Flyers to go along with a strong junior class:

Brandon Jennels

Jordan Parris

Lyndon Mckee

Sean Thompson

The Flyers will be young like stated above but will defintely have the talent to compete with teams this year and will be a team to lookout for in a year!

Their schedule shows Nov. 17 at Cat Madness. (But I read somewhere that this event may not be taking place. Don't know for sure???)

 

Nov. 21 @ Bourbon County
