There is word that Villa Madonna has hired Rob Sawyers to lead their baseball program. Rob has coached at Conner, Bellevue and most recently at Scott High School. If true, this is a fantastic hire for Coach Shields' athletic program.

The best of luck to the Blue Lightning and Coach Sawyers!

What happened to Coach Welte?

  • Author

I don't know. He's gone though.

Coach Welte is returning to school to pursue his law degree. Did a great job there and left a firm foundation for a very small school. Sawyers is a great hire for Villa.

Welte will be helping out with lloyd.

Congratulations to Villa Madonna on a hire. Was very curious to see what the situation was on the former home front and this is definitely yet another stride toward the right direction. Best of luck to them in the upcoming season, as well to Coach Welte in law school.

This is an excellent hire for Villa.
