Maybe Thompson, though he has not declared. I am not sure where he would be on the issues, and I obviously would need to consider that. That is about it for me.

I think an easier question would be which canidates would I never vote for....

 

That list would consist of Clinton, Obama, Edwards....After that does it even matter? One of those three will be the Dems nominee.

I cannot begin to think of a democrat that I would vote for because of what their platform stands for. If they don't abide by their platform I can't figure out why they still want to align themselves in that camp. The only democrat in recent history that I might throw my support to would have been Zell Miller and he's not in the picture.

Been there a few times. On the topic if it's limited to the candidates out there now Richardson is someone I could vote for if i had to. Edwards would be a longshot candidate. Obama needs more experience but I could see myself at some time in the future giving him a look if the republicans keep trotting out the same old thing.

Some will refuse to even consider voting for a candidate outside of their party (heaven forbid we be open minded), so I am proposing that we rename the thread..."Which opposite party candidate would you be most likely to vote for if a gun were being held to your head to do so?"

 

That way, everyone can save face and still answer the question.

The Republican I would vote for would be Mitt Romney.

I suspect it's because the "other" camp is even further from their own views. Face it. Most often in American, to get elected you have to be either Democrat or Republican. That doesn't mean you're lock-step with the "Party Line".

Or, instead of using the glass half-empty philosophy, you could look at it as a means to keep the other two "honest".

 

What would be your solution? There is no way anyone can say that the state of the Republican & Democratic parties are representative of the true feelings of the majority of the American public. I honestly think people vote the lesser of two evils the majority of the time.

The Rep platform usually comes pretty close to mirroring my beliefs. What they put into practice can be a different thing. Case in point: GW and his liberal spending ways the past 8 years.
