North Laurel (3-0) vs Woodford Co (2-1)

Looks like the loser of tonight's North Laurel/Russell-Flatwoods game will have a tough test in Adair County. There seem to have been a ton of runs put on the scoreboard so far....is it because there are some not so good teams in it or are NLLL, RFLL and ACLL just that much better than some of the other leagues?

 

Just wondering.

 

North Laurel, Adair, Russell Flatwoods and Woodford have been the 4 best teams so far and all 4 deserve to be in the semifinals. North Oldham had some girls opt for travel ball instead and it hurt their team, Prestonsburg is still trying to build a program and showing steady improvement throughout pool play getting better every game. Butler County has some good young talent and will just get better. Marion County really plays hard and have some very fun fans to be around!

 

I am not going to make any predictions on here, but think that North Laurel and Russell Flatwoods cannot afford a letdown after such an emotional game tonight. Woodford is playing with a lot of confidence and Adair is very solid. I think that the Tuesday semifinals will feature 2 very good ballgames with a shot at the state championship on the line awaiting the winners on Wednesday. I am very tired, but have to admit I am having a good time!

 

On the minor league level, South London, North Oldham, Washington County and Butler County have all been very impressive.

GAME #1

Russell Flatwoods 7 Adair County 6

 

Russell Flatwoods trailed 6-3 going into the bottom of the 6th. Scored 4 runs to get the come from behind win to get into the championship game on a bases loaded infield single, Jordan Gross scores the winning run for RF.

 

GAME #2

North Laurel 16 Woodford County 0 (4 innings)

All North Laurel from beginning to end. Elkins pitches a no hitter for North to advance to the championship game.

I believe the Minor League Championship game will be at 6pm as well

South London vs Washington County (unless I am mistaken)

11-12 Little League State Championship

North Laurel 7 Russell Flatwoods 2

 

This was a GREAT game from beginning to end. RF came out fired up and ready to play going on top 2-0 in the first inning. RF held onto that lead until the 4th inning when North scored 3 runs to take a 3-2 lead. North added 3 runs in the 5th and 1 run in the 6th to capture the 2007 state championship and punch their ticket to Joplin, MO. In the state tournament, North outscored their opponents 67-3 in 5 games and thru district and state play combined were 9-0, outscoring their opponents 106-9.

South London 4 North Oldham 2

 

I missed most of this game as I was watching the LL title game. Caught the end. North Oldham went up 2-0. South London came back to tie it up 2-2 and eventually moved out to a 4-2 lead and held on for the win.

 

 

It was pretty cool to see both the North Laurel team and the South London team, taking pictures together after both state titles were decided.

 

I believe they are parading the girls from both squads thru downtown London tomorrow at 11am on firetrucks.

 

Congrats to both of these teams for making us proud!

Are the older girls tourneys going on now and if so, does anyone have any updates?

I think Adair won the 11 year old state tourney. Not sure on junior or senior leagues.
