There was an article this week in the Huntington newspaper about Coach McPeek leaving the Heroes and becoming the principal at Fairview. He was quoted in the paper as saying he would like to coach again somewhere. If he wasnt going to coach at Fairview, why take the principal job? I wouldnt think he would be in administration at one school and coach at another.

Coach McPeek is not going to be the head coach at Fairview, if Chad is the coach this season(I don't think he will be) he will probably ask McPeek to help out.

This is a very interesting topic. One, why would Tackett leave? Two, where would he go? Three, wouldn't a principal be to time involved within the school to coach?

I bet he would have ole Nate to be the head man as his Uncle helps him out. Just a thought no truth to the statement.

I didn't know BGP had a bad name.

:thumb: :thumb: Not as far as I am concerned.

Through out the area there is a rumor that the administration is going to force him out and name Garry Mcpeek as head coach and Nathan McPeek as one of his asst. with the job Chad has done at Fairview I personally do not believe this, while I have not heard this from any Fairview boosters or Chad himself I have heard it from his players and his opponents. I have to feel there must be some truth to this with all the area talking an I think the administation should be ashamed. In the past few years they have made a habit of beating their rivals Raceland and making the playoffs and with the size school Fairview is I think thats all they can ask for.:fire: :fire: :fire:

Coach Tackett would love to stay at Fairview, but unfortunately this is NOT a rumor. The administration is forcing him out. Bill Musick will take over if Coach Tackett leaves.

Coach Tackett has had no choice but to look at other options.

Welcome to BGP BW04 :thumb: , 1 post is as new as you can get :ylsuper: .

INSIDE ZONE at 10:00 am this morning Chad turned in his resignation, congratulations to the leaders of Fairview High School now you have what you wanted. Chad if you read BGP you are the better man and the people of the area recognize this. Any school will be very lucky to have you coach them

Chad did a great job of taking a program that had been shut down and turning it into a respectable program that plays with pride. I wish him the best of luck.

I have talked to several players and parents from Fairview and they are all very upset at what has happened to coach Tackett. sooner or later the whole story will be told and the administration's actions will be exposed. I hope they are prepared.

The kids from Fairview are tough and strongminded. I'm sure they will miss Chad Tackett and play their hearts out in his Honor, (which Chad Tackett still has) :fight:

Don't be surprised if Coach Tackett isn't wearing Maroon this football season. Good luck to Coach Tackett. He is one class act. Fairview's administration should have done whatever it takes to keep him on the sidelines and in the classroom.

I hate to hear this. I was talking to a friend from Fairview, who has a child on the football team, before this was official, and he was telling me how he hoped that the administration did not push Tackett out, but he was sure it was coming. Tackett is a good person and a good coach, I hate to hear he has been treated this way. I am sure he will do great at his new job. And I wish he the best of luck, and I hope he enjoys his new position.

Wow !! I was sincerely hoping that this talk was just rumors but I guess not. What a shame that a school would let something like this happen with such a good football coach and more importantly a CLASS individual in Coach Chad Tackett. Coach Tackett was all about the kids at Fairview, not his own personal gain or glory. I am sure that Coach Tackett will land on his feet and coach elsewhere if that is what he wants to do. Tackett will come out ahead in and after all of this, that I am sure of. Coach Tackett, you were and still are a class act :thumb: , you brought a level of CLASS to the Fairview football program that I personally had not ever seen there before. Good luck to you in all that you do and wherever you may go.
