Does anyone know who will be participating in the Ludlow Team Camp this week? I know that Williamstown will be there.

The teams that I know of are Williamstown, Owen County, Henry County, Scott High School, St. Henry High School, and Ludlow. There may be a couple more, but I am not sure who they are.

Grant County and Beechwood round out the camp. Looks to be some pretty good games on slate this week. Coach Stamm does a good job with the camp.

 

Curious to see how Grant Co. looks with a different coach. Coach Richey did a tremendous job while he was there. Maybe Coach Wilhoit from Williamstown can persuade him to come over to W'town to help out some!!!

The gym condition is something to watch out for tonight. No air conditioning & the humidity is up. Tempers will be flying for sure. The point guard for Grant is working on lower leg problems, so she may be limited this week, but looking forward to seeing more of the new coach in action.

I saw some of these teams compete at the Lady Raider shoot - out and at Transy Camp. This looks to be a good group.

I was able to stop in tonight and watch some of the games at Ludlow. Owen beat Grant, Owen beat Scott, Scott beat Williamstown, Grant beat Williamstown, and Ludlow beat Beechwood, St Henry beat Henry as well. Over all i thought Owen look good but Ludlow look the best with two key players out they had several players that played and did well. Grant played well at times but only played 7 and their defense is nothing like it was last year. Williamstown couldnt score at times was what hurt them but they play really hard. St. Henry plays a lot of players working on their future seems to be the plan for the summer. Scott has a very tall and talented freshman center that will be fun to watch for years to come. Beechwood is getting better they have some younger players that work hard.

Hot was an understatement, but the tempers seemed to stay in check. I watched W'town play Scott High and Grant Co. Scott won by I believe 4 points. Both coaches did a good job substituting freely until about the last 3-4 minutes. From there both teams had their best players on the floor. W'town had some chances, but turned it over late and couldn't score.

 

Grant Co. beat W'town by 15 or so. Coach Wilhoit played all 9 players he took, but Grant played only 7. The only time the other 2 got off of the bench was to shake hands at the end. Grant's press hurt W'town's reserves causing multiple t/o's. During that time, they built their lead up from 7 to around 15. Also, W'town had too many reach in fouls while Grant was shooting. Coach Wilhoit was not happy about that. Give Grant credit, they hit their FT's though.

 

Talking with Coach Wilhoit after the game, he was pleased with the play of West and especially of his daughter, Tori. If she had gotten her dad's height, she would be hard to handle as a freshman. I thought she played extremely hard for both games.

I saw most of the second half of the St.Henry and Henry County game. I thought St. Henry looked pretty good. They did a good job rotating players in and out of the game. I also saw Scott play Williamstown. Williamstown is a tough team. They never gave up, and kept playing hard until the end. Scott played all of their players. Both Kiki Brown and Lauren Tibbs looked good. Lauren is really coming around, and I think by this time next year, she will look even better. Scott has a lot of incoming freshman coming in this year, so I think that they have a bright future ahead. Scott has more freshman than they do upper class girls.

To an earlier post, Scott High does have a nice post player who will be a freshman. She has a nice shooting touch. She will be one to keep your eye on for the next 4 years.

Hey Buttels - where have your girls been playing for summer ball? I will see them Wed night but I have not run into them in any of our games.

They were at Beth Haven on 6/4-6/5. Haven't heard about any other stops for them. I think they were planning on a lot of in house stuff over the summer.
