Juniors play at 5:00 and Seniors at 7:30. Both games at Cov Mienken.

 

So be some great tallent there to watch.

Not sure what happened in the Senior game but the East beat the West 10-5 in the Junior All-Star game.

 

The East comprised of players from Holy Cross, Brossart, Campbell Co., Scott, Beechwood, NewCath, CovCath, Highlands, and Newport

 

The West had players from Dixie, SK, Boone Co., Heritage, Villa, Conner, Ryle, and St. Henry.

. Both games at Cov Mienken.

Do they allow fielders to wear helmets with a facemask?

 

If you thought it was bad DURING the high school season, wait until you see it now.

Senior game East 8 - West 4

Just some plays/highlights that I like to include from the Junior All-Star game:

 

Matt Nichols (Dixie Heights) although going 1-3, had 2 run double in the 1st that allowed the West to get ahead early.

 

The latter half of the inning after putting up 4 runs already, the East's Zac Adams (Scott) hit a 2-run homerun to put the East All-Stars up 6-4 breaking the tie. Adams would also draw a walk in his next and final at bat.

 

It turned out thats all the runs the East would need as some great pitching helped keep the West All-Stars at bay. Adam Gohs (Beechwood) made a nice diving play at shortstop early in the game and was able to get up and get the put-out at first base.

 

The East continued to put up runs as the West's bats seem to deaden after the 1st inning which led to the 10-5 final with a East All-Stars Victory.

 

Great game by both teams as all the players seemed to have fun and enjoy the game from start to finish. I wish good luck to these young men as they continue their baseball careers into the next season.

Austin Studer of Campbell Co. drove in the first two runs for the East in the Junior game with a single to left and Jordan Woodruff of Campbell Co.knocked in the third run with a ground out. Woodruff pitched two scoreless innings for the East as well.

Senior Game: The most impressive thing about the senior all-star game were the smiles from all of the players. It was a relaxed atmosphere where the players were there to play the game that they love and to play a game with those they have played aganist in school and with on summer teams during their high school career. It appeared that everyone got along and had a good time regardless of the score. It truley was some of the players last school baseball game and it was great to see them all together one last time.
