June 6, 200719 yr MB, I'll respond as short as possible. Not judging anyone. Bible says "Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess Jesus is Lord". Doesn't say "some". People are given a freewill mind to make choices. Thats why we have so many differnet Religions, but there is only one way to the Father and thats thru Jesus Christ. I can't speak for the other people. One thought about the Bible stories being "far fetched". Maybe that shows us that a mere man couldn't think up these stories. Faith of mankind is what we have through scriptures. What does Faith mean? Believing in something that you cannot see to be there. The comments on Church. A church is made up of people, and people make mistakes and that can make a false Church. The Bible speaks of False teachers many times. There is no perfect Religion or Church, but there is a perfect God. This God we cannot question his ways. The Altar was a way people in the Old Testament brought their sacrifices to God, so the tradition of the Altar is still in present day Churches. God hears everything no matter where you are or no matter how you speak to him. ( a tongue speaker) I'm sorry to hear that after a service you are even more confused. Try to ask around where your work, school, neighborhood, stores, etc, about different places to check out. Also maybe try to visit a Christian book store and ask for some resources to look at. I have a habit of calling preachers in my area to get a different view on some topics. Call some of them. Freak...If the four Gospels were exactly the same that would show nothing, by being different proves that they are not carbon copies of each other. These were written by men who actually walked with Jesus, but what is the bottom line of each one. Love....Love of Jesus, Love for each other, Love to search the scriptures. Love to live out our days which are a mere short time compared to eternity. I can't wait to get to heaven, but I'm in no hurry to get there. There will be planty of time for that. Right now I want to live right here. Both of you seem very nice people, MB and Freak and I hope I've help a little. There are some more really imformative people on here who also will comment. Also I don't think God would Ok Abortions. These are done by men who have that freewill that I talked about earlier. Abortions stop a beating heart and its wrong. Know any couples who have adopted a child?

Know any couples who have adopted a child? This is another big problem I have with Christianity. If this is the case then half the world is going to hell, This is the belief of christianity. If i choose not to follow Christianity does that mean I can't make it to Heaven. What if I chose another and was just a faithful in that as you are to yours? Does that make you a better person than me on judgement day? To tell someone that they have to worship Jesus to get to Heaven IMO is one of the biggest irks I have with Christianity. I'm not judging noone believe me I'm not the person to be the judge of others. You seem like a good person too and I applaud you for your commitment to your faith. For the record I am enjoying this conversation, I'm not attmepting to argue like I said earlier, I like hearing views and learning other interpretations.

No, it doesn't mean that a follower of Christ is better than you...it means that when God looks down on a non-believer in judgment, He's going to see a life with all it's sin and when He looks at the follower of Christ, He's going to see the perfect life of Jesus...that's what accepting and following Jesus does. It allows His life to cover ours.

June 6, 200719 yr Freak, what 5wide said. What I do is go by scripture and it says in Matthew 7:13:14.."Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the roadthat leads to destruction, and many enter through it...BUT SMALL IS THE GATE AND NARROW THE ROAD THAT LEADS TO LIFE. AND ONLY A FEW WILL FIND IT". There is a pattern set forth thru scripture and either you believe and obey the word or you don't. God brought forth a Savior and we get to make a choice. Like I said earlier its thru faith in these scriptures that brings me this Good News about Jesus Christ. I'd hate to not make the right choice. Keep asking questions and adding your comments. Don't think I've left the board I'm off to work and be back tomorrow.
June 6, 200719 yr So to practice another religion is a sin? That's pretty shallow. There is another way to heaven besides Jesus, and that is to live a sinless life, like He did. Personally, I couldn't do it, and neither can anyone else, thus the need for a savior, Jesus. I didn't say practicing another religion was a sin. All I'm saying is that Jesus is the only way to heaven. If you're not interested in heaven, then, IMO, one religion is as good as another...or no religion at all. If a person makes the choice to reject Christ, then my advice to them would be to do whatever brings you the best combination of peace, love and joy in this life because that's what you're living for. And please, don't take that as shallow, or insulting. It's just giving you my honest opinion based on my belief and reading the Bible.

Don't think I've left the board I'm off to work and be back tomorrow. I don't believe everything to be accurate in the Bible. Just because I choose to believe it's not accurate doesn't mean that i disobey it. What constitues the bible beeing the right choice other than it's what you want to believe? What if God told me to write these post in a prayer yesterday, If I told you that would you believe me? You'd more than likely think I had lost a few screws. So what makes what those people say in that book more right then what I have to say? Nothing, other than it was voted on by a council of men, not men and women, to be right. I wonder if a women's voice had been heard during that council if the Bible would had read different? At that time women were not considedered equals, the whole Mary Magdelene scenerio beeing a prostitute which later the vatican reversed that and elminiated that title? Ad a women's view to it does it change? Yes I read the Divinci Code and no that did not change my view of religion before any goes and thinks that.

I don't take anything as an insult, if I did I would had probably PM'd about it, A public board isn't the place to insult someone so please don't think I ever take anything anyone says as a direct attack. I also never said I rejected Christ, I simply stated I have a problem with Christianity and the way it's taught to believe. I don't live my life sinless, but I can tell you that the worse habbit I have is a profain word now and then and I NEVER use the lords name in vain. I'm very much at peace with myself and and enjoy everymoment of my life. What my biggest issue is if the God is the almighty, then why turn away good people that have faith beit the Bible or the Koran?

June 6, 200719 yr I know this has gotten off MBWC topic but this has turned into a pretty interesting discussion.
June 6, 200719 yr How do you distinguish between the truth and the lies? It's tough, and you have to do it over time. My only problem is that some people (not you necessarily) will focus on the "lies" and miss out the truth.
