Thanks. I know that I've oversimplified the couple of issues that I discussed. But generally, that's how I feel about them. It would take up pages on here to really dig into my thoughts and opinions on the issues and I'd again be wearing the label of the "Great Pontificator". If we could stop all the name calling; realize that people of both parties both really want the same thing;and agree to try to work together to resolve our differences of philosophy (where possible), this country would become even stronger than it is. Unfortunately politicians of both parties have something to gain by belittling the folks on the other side, and that something is getting re-elected. We as citizens have to be smarter than getting caught up in that silliness and do what we can to influence our elected officials to work together.

I agree. In the words of "The Great Orater":

Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.

Ronald Reagan

Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.

Ronald Reagan

Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.

This one has nothing to do with the topic, I just love football.

Going to college offered me the chance to play football for four more years.
