Theoldguy Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Bleser pitched and went 4 innings, before Senior Pauley closed out the game. Bleser only had 2 runs scored against him and both were unearned. In the first CovCath got off to a slow start with NCC getting men on first and second, and the next NCC batter got a base hit to RF, however sophomore Nutini cleanly fielded the ball and hit sophomore first baseman Isler with a bullet and Isler threw a strike to Sophomore Catcher Maile who had the NCC runner completely blocked from sliding across the plate for an out. CovCath proceeded to score 2 in the 1st, 2 in the 2nd, 5 in the third, and 5 in the fourth, again with outstanding hitting from the top to the bottom of the lineup. Maile was 2/2 Triple-W-HR- and 5 RBI's, Bleser also had a HR, as did Reis. Again outstanding hitting performance by the Colonels. CovCath plays Highlands at Highlands on Wednesday....

I hear that's more impressive than actually hitting it OVER the fence. 5 RBIs? Overrated from what I hear. 58 on the year? Thank goodness for those kids getting on base.

The wind was blowing out today, but the Maile and Bleser HR's weren't wind aided at all.....and give me a guy who knocks in runs, for if you don't have one who can do it, your men on base, won't score at all.......
Diamond Dandy Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 14-4 ? Doesn't seem like a HR would have changed the outcome of that game. Nice piece of hitting though for one of the young men in a 2 horse race.

Diamond Dandy Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 That's why I'm on the committee, my man. Yep...we figured that.

Double D...they're pulling you round by your nose man, we're not talking about a Nobel Prize...really, it's just fun. You gotta quit taking the bait and have fun plugging whomever you feel...as far as I know...(shhhh....none of these opinions will really count....but don't tell anyone)

STRIKE3 Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Scoreboard has Cov. Cath, listed at 21-8. Is this their correct record, or are they 24-8.
