Brossart Wins Fourth Straight 10th Region "A" Tournament

Featured Replies

Brossart wins Coach Bob Rowe's fourth consecutive 10th Region All "A" Tournament with a 13-3 win over Paris on Monday evening at Paris.

Uebel homered to lead off the game and then pitched five shutout innings before yielding to Sophomore Jake Heil who took over in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 13-0 lead and allowed three Paris runs to score.

The three runs in the bottom of the sixth were the only scored against the Mustangs in the four game 10th Region small school tournament. They outscored their four opponents (Calvary, Nicholas, Bracken, and Paris) 55-3.

Jimmy Uebel, Chirs Simon, and Sophomore Josh Anderson, who all homered against Paris, were named to the All-Tournament team.

The Mustangs will now play Danville in a sectional event at Danville to determine the team that will advance to the "A" State tournament derby day weekend at Applebee's Park in Lexington.

Next up for the Mustangs is a 7pm Tuesday night district seeding event that will likely determine the 37th District's top seeded team. The game will be played at Campbell County High School.

Congratulations to the Mustangs!!!!!!

How will Bishop Brossart fair against Danville? The Ads look pretty strong right now.

Anytime you play a team at this level they will be tough. Danville is 13-0 and won a Louisville tournament by beating Doss and Southern. They beat Somerset who is also mighty tough to win the 12th "A", so Danville will be a load

I'm sure that Bobby will entust the pitching duties to Nathan Mutsch and we'll see if we can get some runs and do our best to advance.

Danville beat us two years ago at Applebee's if memory serves me correctly.

Owensboro Catholic beat the Mustangs in the All "A" State at Applebee's two years ago by one on a two out two run walk off homer. :madman:

That was just after my infamous "The Mustangs are one strike away from advancing to the All "A" State semi-finals" broadcast comment.

I think he hit it over the Pepsi Party Deck. :creepy:

Danville did beat us at Applebee's - must have been three or four years ago.

Congrats to the Mustangs and to Josh Anderson! I'm proud to say "I knew you when!"
