There isn't much work left to do for 08 at this point... :sssh: :D

:thumb: What does UC have coming in for 07? I haven't heard too much about that recruiting class.

Signed LOI

Kenny Belton PF 6-7 225 - Greensboro, NC

Rashad Bishop SF 6-6 190 5.7 Jersey City, NJ

Larry Davis SG 6-3 - - Houston, TX

COMMITTED/NOT YET SIGNED

Jason Henry SF 6-7 190 5.9 Atlanta, GA

Alvin Mitchell SF 6-5 205 5.7 Ft. Lauderdale, FL

There is also a very good chance they get Top 50 C Anthony McClain. The foundation is forming nicely so far...

Sure does look like it. Where do they fit in with the JC players? Which ones will likely be contributors besides Mcclain? (Assuming we sign him)

Henry, Bishop and Mitchell seem the most ready to contribute right away. Belton went to the same HS as Hicks, and he's going to be a nice PF off the bench for a few minutes a game to start next year. Davis is the only real question on the court as he is recovering from an ACL tear last summer. He could have come back at the end of his HS season, but the coach held him out to protect his future. He's out of Houston and has been billed as a better version of Field Williams by people in his area. Mitchell is a 6'4" dead eye shooter and Henry and Bishop are athletic wings in the mold of the Pitino system. Very exciting class if they can secure McClain...

I was thinking Henry as a potential version of Field Williams before I even saw your reply.

The key to this recruiting class are Mitchell and Henry. But with or without them, UC's recruiting class is still solid for the upcoming season.

Definetly a good scouting report on your part though GT.

Don't forget Mike Williams and the big Polish kid, Adam Hyzechuk or something like that....

that sounds good... I thought we were supposed to be looking at a true point for the class of '08... any "ideas" GT?

Forgot all about those two. UC could be a major contender next year. With the 07 recruiting class coming in and the addition of Mike Williams and Hyranechuk (sp?), UC could be much better than some think next year.

Where will Vaughn fit in with all the new additions? He is only a soph. What are your predictions for UC's starting 5 in 07 GT?

There are a few names on the radar. One seems to be jumping out more than others at this point, but it's still a little too early to tell. If I had my preference Dee Bost will be the 08 PG...

Vaughn will be the PG...

Dee Bost wouldn't be a bad addition. At 6'1 it would give UC a little more size at the PG position than in years past.

He has been making it pretty clear UC is the only team he is considering right now...

And then there's this.

In the past six weeks, he's been MVP of the N.C. 3A Western Regional, MVP of the N.C. 3A state championship game, and MVP of an all-star game between top N.C. and S.C. talent. Saturday, sure enough, he came off the bench to win co-MVP of the Charlotte Pro-Am All-Star game at Vance High.

You misunderstood. Davis is the one considered to be a better Field Williams. And he's ranked at the bottom of this 07 class. Henry has been compared to T Mac... :scared:

Gates has the ability to beat more traditional power forwards off of the dribble from the outside with his remarkable quickness for a player with such freakish strength. He can keep defenders honest with his ability to hit the three, but can also kill you inside of the paint with his ability to jump through the roof and his feathery soft touch. The skill set that he possesses is not matched by many in his class, and his physical attributes can be matched by only a select few. This is why Yancy has been able to remain a five star recruit throughout his high school days, despite the fact that he has never consistently utilized all of his tools for more then two or three games at a time.
