I'm not from the area- I assume Ashland is not in the conference?

Regardless, congratulations to all those who made it.

You are correct. Also, Boyd County, Greenup County and Rose Hill are not in the EKC. I believe that Fleming has now joined the conference. I also believe that Fairview has decided to sit out one year.

You are correct Comet75. The conference next year will have 10 teams from the 16th Region. All teams in the region except: Fairview, Boyd, Ashland, Rose Hill, Menifee and Greenup.

Greenup has been a member in the past and Fairview was a member for many years but is dropping out next season due to scheduling with their girls program. Each team must play the other teams in the conference and Fairview's girls did not want to schedule some of the teams, so the school dropped for a year or so (conference rules state that the school must participate in both boys and girls to be a part of the conference).

Boyd and Ashland were in the NEKC for years, but it folded and they have never made application to be a part of the EKC (neither has Rose Hill). Menifee Co has been in and out of the EKC many times.

I heard that there may be another "drop out" or two...

Good list of players. When you put them on a list right there, you can really see that eastern Ky. has some real talent. Congrats men.

Not to my knowledge. Elliott Co considered dropping out, but has reconsidered. Bath Co has had some issues, but I think they are staying with the Conference.

Looks like a good situation for Rose Hill, to get some local games inside the the 16th region.

I agree, but they have not made application to the conference to my knowledge.

Congratulations to all the players selected to the All EKC Team.

A special thumbs up(:thumb:) to Tyler Boyles, Jacob Sparks, and Matt Phillips from the Rams. Nice job guys!!!!

I hear that there may be a drop or two as well. Some coaches just dont feel like they need the test of talent that early in the season I think.

A lot of people don't like the early season tourney, but when else could they play it?

A couple of teams dropping out probably would not hurt the conference.

Is Fleming County in the EKC? If so, how did Ellison not make this team?

The early season tourney has been dropped in favor of a one-day shootout on December 8th.

Conference must be pretty tough last four region champs came from EKC.

This year's runners-up won the region.

Pretty good test of talent.

I believe that Fleming is part of the EKC for track and Cross Country but not basketball.
