Lexington Catholic High School has self-reported a KHSAA bylaw violation, according to a statement from the Diocese of Lexington.

Meaningful commentary could include questions (one simple question will not be sufficient) intended to stem discussion, it can be some personal observations about the topic of the link, or it could simply be a summary in the member’s own words about what is contained in the link.

Lexington Catholic High School Statement Regarding KHSAA Bylaw Matter

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Lexington Catholic High School (LCHS) recently discovered through an internal review that third-party donors had made partial tuition payments for five newly enrolled students scheduled to attend the upcoming school year. Such payments are prohibited under LCHS policy and Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) bylaws governing student eligibility.

Upon learning about this matter, the Superintendent of Schools, Miranda Chaplin took immediate steps to self-report the situation to KHSAA. LCHS is cooperating fully with KHSAA and will continue to follow all applicable review processes and guidance.

The students involved have not participated in any regular season athletic competitions at LCHS. The school has also determined that the Athletic Director and coaching staff members had no involvement in the violations. The departure of the current Athletic Director and any coaching staff is unrelated to this matter.

The President of LCHS is no longer serving in that role.

"Lexington Catholic High School takes compliance with KHSAA bylaws seriously and remains committed to upholding the mission, core values, and integrity of our school and the community in which it serves," said Miranda Chaplin. "We acted promptly to self- report this matter and will continue to work transparently with KHSAA."

The Superintendent and LCHS will review its internal procedures to strengthen oversight and help ensure continued compliance with all KHSAA requirements with its current athletic department, school faculty, and staff.
