If healthy, 7-3 should be the baseline. 8-2 if something goes their way.

Expect Ashland to be tough for them, and West Jess will be good again (although that is a rival.)

The rest of the schedule should be favorable.

I see losses to Mad South, Montgomery, Ashland, and West Jessamine.

I think this could be a good year for them. They lost a lot to injuries last year and lost a solid senior class but this upcoming senior class has some hard working kids that may be able to help them over the hump. This could be the first winning season since 2019. I'm guessing 6 or 7 wins, possibly 8 at best.

I expect this year to be the year they get over the hump. There’s been changes to the coaching staff, and they lost some good players who were unfortunately injured last year, but I believe the downstream guys have bought in and there should be very very noticeable improvements. Hearing good things out of their practices.

A winning regular season is not out of the question. I don’t see them losing all their district games like another poster predicted. MoCo will be tough with a new coaching staff there, Mad South and West rivalries will always be interesting games. Last year for this 4 team district because next year Woodford County joins the mix.

Continue to hear good things about the Jaguars this year. Seem to have more players out so far for the team, changes in coaching staff have paid some dividends, they’ve established their base D before being so multiple in previous couple of years trying to have a D play for every package instead of establishing a base D and working out of it, positive changes that should help them be more consistent and not fade. Depth development, etc. Excited to see how this translates to the season.

About 60 out at this point. Had several go to EKU’s camp Friday who did well. Ran some very good times while there also.

Those are excellent numbers for EJ. The kids must love this coaching staff and have bough into the philosophy. Wish them nothing but the best this season.

They absolutely have bought in based on what I am hearing. Something like 28 incoming freshmen alone.

Anyone here able to have seen the workouts with East Jessamine and Lexington Catholic and Lexington Christian this past week? I know they have a scrimmage coming up versus Mercer County on Friday. Curious as to how all 3 teams looked in terms of size, any players jumping out, etc.?

So I was able to get an update from an East Jessamine fan who was in attendance:

"The LCA portion we did not look the best, it was very physical from both teams. Overall "winner" was LCA. Versus Lexington Catholic, it was a different story. Offense played lights out, we scored 8 times in the first 10 plays. There was an instance where we got to 3rd and 4 at the 4 yard line, Lexington Catholic defense dominated in that particular sequence. OL/DL competition versus LCA did not happen because LCA was apparently "very thin and have a ton of injuries" according to one of their coaches. OL/DL versus Lex Cath was great work. DL stole the show from both teams, OL on both sides basically won about half of their reps. Lex Cath has very tall, long, and skinny tackles, their interior is stout and their center should be a wrecking ball for them."

So overall it sounds like East Jessamine did not perform too badly. Looking forward to getting to attend the Mercer County scrimmage on Friday and see how they play. For those who may not know, it is at East Jessamine, free entrance, and starts at 6:00 PM.
