DevilMayCare Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 โ๏ธ | The defending state champs are loaded again. Trinity baseball is starting to resemble the football program. The Rocks have several players either already committed to the next level or they're being courted by DI schools. It's easy to see why they're receiving Top 10 attention in national polls and heavily favored to repeat as kings of Kentucky. โข Grayson Willoughby (P/3B, UK commit)ย โข Nolan Hosking (1B, UofL commit).ย โข Zach Floyd (OF/2B, UofL commit) โข Max Phillips (OF/P, Wake Forest commit) โข Gray Davis (P/SS, Clemson commit) โข Hudson Meredith (P/OF, Virginia commit). Those last three rank among the state's top five junior class prospects according to PBR. 1
DevilMayCare Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 The 11th Region is, once again, expected to be a season long battle royale. Defending champion Sayre is the early favorite, but CKY is stacked with contenders, including perennial power LexCath, plus Frederick Douglass, Madison Central, and Henry Clay. All five teams are ranked in the preseason poll. Beechwood has been tabbed as the favorite in NKY, which appears to be a little down this season, at least from where we currently stand. Defending champ Highlands is in the mix again, but no one else made the first edition of the rankings. CovCath may be underrated after returning a good mixture of arms and bats. Mainstay Ryle lost quite a bit to graduation. Surprise, surprise.... McCracken County looks like the best in the west. The Mustangs have never failed to win the 1st Region, claiming all eleven titles since the school's inaugural season in 2014. Whitley County and Boyd County are the representatives for EKY. Whitley, state champs in '23, have been thwarted by rival Corbin in the 13th Region final two years in a row. The Colonels are a heavy favorite to get back to Lexington this spring. Ditto for Boyd, who loses only three seniors from last year. The Lions return several quality arms and bats, headed up by Mr. Baseball candidate and Alabama commit Grant Slater. The 14th District was the top district in the state last year, and appears ready to hold that distinction again, with 4th Region champion South Warren, Bowling Green, and defending district champion Greenwood all ranked inside the Top 20. The Purples, despite being ranked all of last season, were the odd team out after being eliminated in the first round of the district tournament. 1
DevilMayCare Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 The season officially kicked off yesterday, but things really get rolling this evening with a pair of games between ranked teams. #1 Trinity at #24 South Oldhamย #21 Boyle County at #12 LaRue Countyย

Both starting pitchers were dueling. Once Patterson went out, SO Andrew Holder struggled a little but limited em to one, but the bats never got going. Since then, Boyle has run ruled Washington Co and Southwestern. I would think Boyles the favorites to repeat in the 12th.ย 1
