From Darrin Rump and Notre Dame Academy:

Wow.. what a season for the NDA bowling Pandas

3 tournament wins

NKAC D1 Season Champs

Region 6 Team Champs

KHSAA STATE SEMIFINALISTS

It has been so much fun with this great group of kids/ parents / school !

All the work you put in, supporting each other in the ups and downs, never quitting, battling through , excitement of winning and learning to win, understanding different roles the team needs, having each other's back, all the laughs/ cheers on the lanes, proudly representing NDA , being open to help/ instruction and advise, making me stressed out to laughing to having a tear in my eyes today. It's been awesome!!

Can't say enough of how proud myself and Dave are of everything you ladies accomplished this season

Thank you to the seniors for your leadership and taking this program to new heights

To the awesome group coming back next year, keep working at improving your game to get to the next level

Thank you Shannon, Kendall and Pj for understanding the time it takes to do this, and to the most supportive group of parents and school for trusting Dave and myself to coach this great group of young ladies.

It really is a fun story.  NDA had a bowling team for a number of years, but it disbanded, for whatever reason and was gone for 3 years.

When Dave Hampton started it back up 4 years ago, he had 1 senior, I think 1 sophomore, a couple freshmen, an 8th and 7th grader....Most of whom had never bowled before.   They limped through that first season, usually with not enough girls to fill out a full team.

The following year, he had a freshman and an 8th grader.  It was seriously close to folding due to lack of participation.  With luck, he had a great group of sophomore girls that ended up joining the team (they were all friends and wanted to be involved in something together, so they gave bowling a try.). They improved rapidly and made a little noise in the regional that season.

Last season, he had most of those girls back and added a few more and fielded a really solid team, as they all seemed to pick up the sport quickly.  He had lost his original assistant coach, but was lucky enough to have Darrin step in.

This season, he had that initial 7th and 8th grader (now a sophomore and junior) 2 of the girls from that sophomore group that joined (now seniors), a sophomore that enrolled in the school this year, 2 other seniors that joined last season as juniors, and a great group of freshmen girls that all have a lot of potential.

The bowling PaNDAs should be a force for the foreseeable future.

Top 20 teams advance to the next round.  Unfortunately the bowling PaNDAs finished 23rd.  Missed the cut by just 51 pins.  The girls team from PRP advanced, finishing the qualifying round in 9th.

No Kentucky boys teams advanced past the qualifier.

Singles events still to come.

PRP made the cuts into the final 4 but one of the teams from Illinois was the eventual girls champion.
