Corbin 85 Cumberland 67

I like the way you think and that's what I'm thinking too. However, Corbin and South may not make it past game one with the way this region is. Corbin has a stingy Whitley County team to beat in order to even get there.

Whitley County? Your concerned with Whitley County?

Although, it might seem strange. I think the Hounds better be ready for a physical matchup with the Colonels. The Hounds will have to win this game at the Free Throw line and be tough with the ball. You can never overlook anyone in the post season.

I believe that Whitley's win over Knox Central should help keep the Corbin kids from taking the Colonels lightly............not that they would have anyway.

The final score in this game is very misleading. Cumberland tried to beat Corbin at their own game, in their own gym a night after, a mentally and physically draining game with Bell County, which they had a good chance to win, but turned it over twice and missed 2 critical free throws with the score 55-51 at 1:01 left. I believe Cumberland learned a lot in the Bell Co. and Corbin games.

First that they are capable of beating Bell Bounty and will have a definite shot at them in the district tournament, which is at Cumberland, if they take care of business against the winner of Harlan/Evarts.

2nd they shouldn't allow Corbin to dictate such a frantic pace, if they meet again, but be much more patient and let their 13th region leading defense and disciplined offense, give them a chance to win. If these 2 teams meet again in the regional tournament I think everyone will see a much different game, a game I believe Cumberland is capable of winning.

Am I understanding this correctly....Corbin scored 30 points with 1:01 left to play in the game?

If you look at the post closely you can see that I was referring to the Bell County game the night before, in which Cumberland was down 55-51 with 1:01 left in the game and was at the line for 2 free throws.
Wilson is a nice player.Him and Johnson down low will be very hard to stop and will cause major matchup problems. This Cumberland is going through a maturation process right now and are learning a lot of things.Who would of thought 2 years ago when they were 2-22 they would be I think it is 18-6 right now. They are still learning and by next year with the addition of Wilson should be fun to watch and the matchup between them and Corbin will be fun. What does Clay have coming back?
Hey Rudedogky, Cumberland is still a strong team and do not have to wait for the addition of Wilson to be considered strong. They played Bell and Corbin on back to back nights and while going basically only 6 deep tried to beat Corbin, who goes 10 deep with quality in a fast paced, up and down the floor game and that didnt work out well for them but, dont discount the Redskins as just a good team that might be a contender next year, they are not done this year and anyone that thinks they are could be in for a rude awakening.

I'm sorry, I see that now. :p

Cumberland played Corbin's game and that was the difference as they ran out of steam late in the game. Corbin and Cumberland are pretty even with both having their strengths and weaknesses.

Cumberland will be a tough out for anyone when tournament time comes around.

I know that.I'm a Cumberland guy and I know they are one of the top 3-4 teams in the 13th and can play with anyone in the 13th if they shoot how they did against Owensboro Catholic and play their lockdown D.I was just referring to next year and how much they will mature and grow as a basketball team along with the addition of Wilson.Cumberland could very well make it to the region finals and once your there anything can happen.
