After Woodford County had two games canceled last week and Madison Central had their game scheduled for Saturday against Butler called off, all due to weather, the teams improvised and the Indians headed to Versailles to face the Yellow Jackets as a part of the revised schedule for the Woodford County Ed Stepp Classic on Saturday.

Woodford County (11-6) ended up handing top-ranked Madison Central (20-2) their second loss of the season.

Woodford County has not yet ranked in the Kentucky Elite 16 Poll and their only appearance among KSR's Top 25 was in the #25 spot back in Week 2 of the boys basketball season. Woodford has appeared in the mid-twenties of a few other statewide rankings lists throughout the season, including Big Things Kentucky, Martin Media, and Next Gen Prospects.

No stats posted yet by Woodford County, but per KSR, Omari Jointer had 28 points for WOFO, including a 10-point second quarter.

Woodford's lead was in the double-digits halfway through the third quarter, but Madison Central had the lead cut down to 5 points with two minutes left in the game. Once the Indians were forced to turn to fouling/free throw tactics late in the game, the Yellow Jackets ended up walking away with an 8-point win.

I guess we now know why Woodford's game on Friday was cancelled.
