BellCo @ Cumberland 2/9(Predictions)

Featured Replies

Gonna be a good one.Cumberland played great for about 2 1/2 quarters at Bell on January 2nd when Bell had Slusher as Cumberland gained a 11-13 point lead then just ran out of gas.Tip scheduled for 7:30.Gotta go with my Skins 61-57.

Should be a dandy at C'land but IMO Bell will still be to much for the Skins. Bell by 5. Doesn't Cumberland play at Corbin on Sat.? Tough back to back if so.

If the Skins play the D that is holding opponents to 47 points per game I like their chances. :flame:

Holding Bell or Corbin below 50 points will be difficult IMO, the way the games are called will go along way in determining the outcome of these games.

Bell's athletes will probably wear the Skins down again. They are loaded with kids that can run and jump. Cumberland has to control the tempo to win.

Corbin is either one or two in the state in scoring. Bell is also very capable of getting hot and putting up some points. The Skins hold an advantage down low against both teams with Johnson. If Simpson and the guards are hot along with Johnson, Cumberland can beat anyone. However it will take a whole effort I think. I think all 3 teams have equal talent when it comes to the starting lineup with all three also having a star player (Crawford, Whitaker, Johnson). The only negative Cumberland seems to have is lack of depth.

Regardless, these games aren't played on paper.

Corbin is a high scoring team but they are not even close to the highest scoring team in the state. I can think of at least 5 teams that average more points per game than Corbin. Heck, Corbin isn't even the highest scoring team in the Corbin community. Lynn Camp is.

Scott County 80.8 ppg

Ballard 78.5 ppg

Shelby Valley 76.5 ppg

Lynn Camp 76.4 ppg

Bryan Station 75.9 ppg

Corbin 74.9 ppg

There may be more. These are just the teams I could think of that score a bunch of points. These averages do not include tonight's games.

Beat me to saying Corbin's not even the highest scoring team in the Tri-County much less the state. Lynn Camp at the top of the 13th in scoring, but ranked last in defense.

I can understand how Hound82 made that mistake. I am sure he was going by the list published in many newspapers, including the Lexington Herald. The problem with this list is about 50% of the coaches bother to send statistics to the KHSAA.
