How bad is the QB situation in the NFL if you think your best option is a guy that hasn't played in 5 years?   I'm sure Jamarcus Russell is free as well.

Rivers didn't exactly set the world on fire, but he was far from the reason the Colts lost. I think it's a great story. I don't expect the fairy tale ending, and it's just as likely to get much worse next week as it is for him to be better. I know you brough Jarmarcus up as a joke, but there's no comparing Jamarcus with Rivers. Rivers is a possible hall of famer, and Jamarcus is, well, one of the biggest busts ever. This late in the season, and considering who else is out there, I don't know that Rivers isn't the best option, especially with his familiarity with the offense the run in Indy. Sure there are guys like Tannehill, Nick Foles, or Matt Ryan available, but they don't really excite me either.

Great story here with Rivers, he certainly looked like a high school coach in warm ups, but he did toss a TD and his team had a chance to win. Pretty impressive given he hasn't played in 5 years.
