Barren County 40 Allen County Scottsville 0

First season in 20 years Coach Hood goes winless with these Patriots, they’re missing the playoffs and their season is over. Curious to where they go from here, the AD now; he has to be in search of some help.

Barren County finishes the season 5-5, and they’ll be on the road to take on an Apollo team that just dropped a close one to a county foe in Daviess County. Could be one of the 3 seeds getting a win this coming week, I’ll be rooting for Coach Myers and the Trojans.

They’re on their longest losing streak in 39 years (second longest ever, just three away from tying the worst streak), finished their first winless season in 40 years. Second worst average points allowed in team history, second worst average margin of victory in team history, and the fifth lowest average points scored in team history. They failed to score an offensive touchdown in their final two games - they scored only 92 points as a team on the entire season. The kids battled, but between injuries, kids quitting, and other personnel factors, it was just a perfect storm of awful. A truly miserable season.

Calloway, East, or Monroe, they had to of got one of those, especially with 2 being at home. Those are some records no one wants to be apart of, thanks for that information.

The sad part is they lose over 20 seniors so the likelihood of it improving next season would have to be low.

I don't know what they lose off the offensive line, but that's really where it has to start.  They just have struggled to run block in particular for years, which is a cornerstone of the Brad Hood offense.  They have some guys with speed, but the running lanes are simply not there and they're not quite fast enough to gain the edge without assistance.  They ran two quarterbacks most of the year - they really need one to emerge IMO.  Everyone knows the old axiom that if you have two quarterbacks, you have none.  Hopefully the experience gained in this year and working with them in the offseason can pay some dividends.

Defense is where I don't know what they'll do. All the standouts on defense were seniors.

A year ago the Pats were 9-3. Sometimes these seasons happen. As D-Fire said, perfect storms arise.

Losing 20 seniors off a 0-10 team is not the worst thing ever. It allows for a fresh start with lots of open positions and a lot to be motivated by in the off-season.

I'm going to predict Coach Hood has about 45-55 kids on next year’s team, and while some of the talent may have been thinned, what remains will chew nails for each other.

Look for ACS to get back on track in 2026.
