February 7, 200719 yr Author OK GT, whats your arguement on why the Big 12 and SEC are "tight"... #1 goes to the SEC. #2-#5 I'd have to say the Big 12 would be the favorite on a neutral court. UT over Oklahoma. Texas Tech over Ole Miss. Arkansas and Auburn favorites at 8 and 9. 10 and 11 are a tossup and the Final 4 team in last over Colorado. That's 5-5 with the two tossup games at the bottom. I guess it comes down to I expected more from the SEC and less from the Big 12 so far...

It's an interesting debate to me because like I said and you ignored. I expected more from the SEC at this point (if you look back I've had them neck in neck with the Pac 10 as the best conference all season) and less from the Big 12. If you want to use the flawed logic that a team that is falling apart at the seams was as good as they were expected to be early go ahead. But expect to get called on it. I put the list up. Break it down. Let's see what you think. Or you can continue to be a homer and take the easy way out. I'll lose no sleep either way... :walk:

Do you agree that up to a few weeks ago it would be absurd to suggest the Big 12 could easily split with the SEC, and now not so much? That's what I'm getting at...
February 8, 200719 yr I have to agree with gametime on this one...I've been thinking for several weeks now that the Big 12 wasn't getting there due respect...I think that there will probably be more NCAA berths from the Big 12 than SEC this year.. That in itself makes a valid argument..Its my opinion the SEC is a little stronger at the bottom but thats all speculation cause I'd hate to stake too much of a claim on the SCarolinas, Miss St, Ole Miss type teams... Projected SEC berths : Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Vandy.... Projected Big 12 berths : Tx A&M, Kansas, Ok St, Texas, KSt, Tx Tech...
February 8, 200719 yr I think the Big 12 has 2 really good teams. Right now the SEC just has 1. But I think after those 2 that the SEC is much stronger. Other good teams in the Big 12 are: Okla St Texas Kansas St Oklahoma (iffy) Other good teams in the SEC are: Kentucky Tennessee (with a healthy Lofton) Arkansas Alabama Vanderbilt Georgia (iffy) Ole Miss (iffy) Miss St is a year away from being a solid top 25 team IMO. LSU was a good team until they lost Minor and their team just seems to be falling apart.

Well we can agree to disagree. I think the Big 12 is better at the top 2. After that I like the SEC. I dont think that Texas and Kansas St are that good really. (K St will be next year, Texas cant stop anyone).
